Mandaean Sabians
"Sabian" is a word derived from the Aramaic verb' 4 Saba" which means "baptized" or «dyed" immersed in water "Mandaeans" is derived from "menda" which means in the mandaic language "knowledge" Thus "Mandaean Sabians" mean these who are baptized and who know the religion of God.

2. Beliefs and Prophets:
Mandaeans Sabians believe in God and his monotheism. God is called in their holy book and other religions sources. The Great Lift on The Eternal Lie. Also they believe that Adam (God bless his name) was their first prophet and teacher. Their second prophet was Shetel who is named "Shetel in Mandaic; followed by Sam bin Noah and Yehya Johana bin Zekaria (God bless their names).
3. Holy Books:
Mandaean Sabians have many holy books:
a- Ginza Raba [The Great Treasure] which contains the books of Adam, Sheet and Sam. It consists of 600 pages and fails in two parts.
Part one: from the right hand, includes the book of Genesis; the teachings of the Great Life; the everlasting struggle between God and Evil and Darkness. It relates the details of how the "Soul" came down into Adam's body. The book contains prayers to the Greater and religious and theological rules.
Part two: from the left hand deals with the soul, reward and punishment. The following is the opening verses of the Ginza Raba:
Great is thy name, my Lord 1 mention your name with pure heart, thou Lord of all words; Blessed and holy thy name my Lord, the High the Mighty, King of worlds of Sublime light, whose power is infinite, thou the brilliant and inexhaustible Light (3oct, you, the Merciful, the compassionate, and the Forgiving the savoir of all believer and the supporters of all good people.
Thou art the wise, the omnipotent who knows everything. Thou art capable of doing everything;
Lord of all words of Light, the high, middle and lower words. Thou art of the respectful face, which cannot be seen; thou art the only God who has no partner and no equal in His Power. Anyone who trusts in you will never be let down; anyone who recites your name will never be disappointed; anyone who depends on you; will never be humiliated, Lord of all angels without His presence, there is no existence; without him, nothing could exist, He is Eternal without a beginning and an end.
